Life's a bitch

For me, mountain biking has always been a big distraction from God.  I eat, breathe, and sleep bikes, and this really took precedence over my spiritual side.  I mean, why wouldn't it?  Riding is a huge buzz, my bikes are shiny and fun to tinker with, I can fall asleep dreaming of my next trick component or new frame, I can surf the net forums all day and have beers at night with fellow riders - there's no need for God!

But really, that's not true.  Everyone's got a God shaped hole in them, and all these material distractions only superficially fill that spiritual hole.  (Some people would say that biking is spiritual for them, but I'd say they're a little confused!)  It seems the longer I ignore that spiritual flame, the harder my heart becomes.

I've become a walking, riding shell of a man that's been shaped by the world's ways and modern pop society.  Are we all not just products of everything the world pumps into us?  Well I know this isn't how it's meant to be.

So I continually fight my inner battles, trying to keep a balance between my all-consuming biker lifestyle and the last remaining Godliness in me.  I've recently been riding with some younger guys from my town.  We ride DH occasionally, and have been going to the MSS races.  These young guys don't really have any positive influences in their life.  And now I can see how living a Godly life on my bike may make a difference.  The Yin and the Yang are beginning to become one...

In the same way in which you might eaves drop on what they are saying, Christians are brought together in the studio to discuss topics of the day for others to hear. Prayer support

So what’s this all about and how does it work?  Prayer can be a little daunting – how do you start, where do you start. Too busy riding. Who do you talk to, does it work, am I saying the right thing? etc, etc.

post-it

The prayer board is a straight forward type and submit method that can be seen by all.

So what do we do with a prayer?  The prayer board is checked every day.  All prayers are then passed to a prayer chain (a group of people supporting Rezurgence) and your prayer is simply offered up.  Simple as that!

If you have posted a prayer give us some feedback.  Has your prayer been answered, did it help, is it working for you?

Remember – you don’t have to be Christian to ask for or receive prayer support.  Its open door and works for all.
